Fosters Steakhouse - The English Rose Cafe @ Holland Village

Met my best girls on Wednesday night for dinner date at Fosters Restaurant! The restaurant is at the very end of Holland Village.

There is an outdoor seating area on the terrace or you can opt for indoor seats.

The interior is cosy with a mock fireplace, teddy bears, English Wing chair and even Christmas lights as decor. They also have a stage for live music!

The Menu - The Fosters Times

At night, the tables are decorated with tiny tealight candles giving the cafe a very pretty glow!

They serve breads with a french butter before the start of our main course.

Soup of the day - Mushroom Soup

Salad
This plate of vegetables are great if you are considering eating light.

Both of us ordered the set dinner.

Main Course:
Tenderloin Steak - Grilled to perfection with wild mushroom sauce served with gratin pancetta potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Tender and juicy!

Seafood Combo - A medley of grilled cod, scallop and slipper lobster served with saffron sauce, seasonal vegetables and potatoes.

The seafood combo comes in a small portion. Overall the seafood are perfectly cooked and is fresh hence the dish is really good.

Dessert of the day - Creme brulee
 Taste good not too sweet.

The ambience is dim and  romantic. This a a great place to enjoy a cosy meal with loved ones or gathering with friends.

Bliss House @ Clarke Quay

A new cozy dining place Bliss House Theme Restaurant found at The Central Clarke Quay. The restaurant serve up some innovative modern-European food in a beautiful garden setting.

It was such a pretty place like walk through into a secret garden, filled with flowers, green carpet grass and white furniture which me & my girl friend are absolutely adore and we just couldn't stop taking photos! Here's the photo below we would like to share with all!

This is the entrance to the restaurant. Flowery theme with so many roses decoration! Sweet!

After walking through the main entrance, we were greeted by a fairy tale scene. My favorite part! *scream* A horse carriage with decorated floral all over.Very romantic and pretty place for photos!

A smoking water fountain and an absolutely charming little bridge that bring you across to a magical place.

An overview inside of the restaurant.

Ok! Let's move on to the food!

*PS. The lighting in the restaurant is kind of dim though, so apologies the poor lighting in my photos especially the food. It was too dark to be seen without flash.

Appetizer / Starter!

Pan-Seared Buffalo Mozzarella Blanket
with Prosciutto on Arugula Topped with Olive Tapenade
The wrapped was a bit salty and oily yet delicious!

Pan Seared U.S Diver Scallop
Onion Confit with Caviar & Garlic Prawns on Semi Sundried Tomato Puree
The prawns and scallop were all very huge! We just loved how generous the portions were.

Main Course

Chilean Cod
Marinated with Yellow Bean Paste accompanied with Potato Gratin, Eggplant Caviar & Carrot Puree drizzled with Veal Jus top with Avruga Caviar

I ordered this cod fish and were pleasantly surprised that the fish was so soft & fresh! The fish was taste so good together with the sauce and I even finished it all! Yummy!!

Scaloppini of Kurobuta Pork
With Porcini Mushroom & Veal Jus top with Crispy Potato Wafer
The portion was pretty big and I have to share with my friend to finish the dish. haha

Dessert

Sticky Date Pudding With Butterscotch Sauce
This dessert is actually not a pudding at all, it's look like some yummy chocolate cake... and come with vanilla ice cream with almond chip.

 Traditional Italian Style Homemade Tiramisu
Dusted with shaved Valhorna Dark Chocolate
Me & my girl friend loved this Tiramisu so much! The texture was very soft and not overly sweet. We both like the sesame biscuit, adds on to the flavour.

Our total bill came up to S$151.80 (inclusive 7% GST & Service Charge) for 2 person. The service is decent, and we certainly liked the ambiance. An excellent place for birthday celebration, wedding celebration, anniversary and etc..

Love the restaurant theme very much, definitely will re-visiting again!

Hoshino Coffee @ PS

So, finally back with my latest try-out! After seeing the new wing of Plaza Singapura opened about a few months back, my hubby and I were curious to wanna try out some of the japanese restaurants there! And one of it is the Hoshino Coffee! So, yesterday evening, we decided to check it out!

Personally, the ambience was great! And my hubby was there early, before 6.30, to get a seat. As we were expecting a full house after that. True enough, but around 7pm, the queue was piling up with people eager to eat. Judging by the queue, I reckon that if you want to visit this place in the near future, better to reach before 6.30 on the weekdays.

I suppose one of the reason why the queue was really long, was because there was limited seats, and the places wasn't that big.

So, moving on, we decided to make our orders, and go for what was highly recommended.

So, I ordered the Demi-glace "omu" rice with mozzarella. Personally, I'm fine with eating pizzas, but I not too sure why I find this one hard to finish. The egg wrap was really smooth, but its obvious that they have used milk as one of the ingredients, which is why the wrap is able to look so well-balanced as opposed to our usually home-made scrambled eggs. The sauce is made from chicken and beef, also not really my favourite (I mean the beef).

For a hardcore workout guy like my hubby, it was surprising that he couldn't finish his main course. This Fuwa Fuwa Hoshino Souffle might not seem like much at first sight, but the souffle is covering up the rice, beef, and mushrooms beneath. My hubby's feedback? He felt that before he could get to rice and ingredients, he was already bloated from the souffle on top. Guess it must have been like eating a milk shake from McDonalds. Lotsa bubbles, air, so he was practically eating AIR!! Hahaha!!! Just kidding.

Oh, we finally come to the highlight of our mission! And that was to try out the Vanilla Souffle!

Honestly, the dessert was the only thing that really made our day! It was crispy on the outside, and melt-ilicious on the inside! Although, after finishing the entire bowl of souffle, the both of us felt like we just finished an entire cup of sugar! Haha! But it was sweet, really melts in your mouth! My hubby loved it!

In total, we spend about $80 on the bill for 2 person, so that's about $40/pax. What do I think? I think this is not a place where you should go for a meal, instead, I think its perfect to serve as high tea, or just to chill out with friends! The desserts and drinks are great, but the main course is definitely not their main strength.

Will we still come back to this place? The is a probably chance we might, but definitely not so soon, need to let the souffle wash off first. Lolx!
