Highlander @ Chijmes

Celebrated my hubby's birthday at Highlander (Chijmes).

Chijmes is an interesting concept. They converted a former church into an interesting array of bars and restaurants. Everything shielded from all traffic. The scenery is peaceful.

Highlander is located on basement level. This bar restaurant has both an air-conditioned and outdoor al fresco comfortable seating. Also, there's a live band in the evening start from 9pm to 11pm.

Here's what we ordered:

Pineapple Juice

Cranberry Juice

Highlander Sampler Platter
(Haggis, Scotch Eggs, Tatties Socines, Pork Sausages, Crispy Whitebaits, Kipper Toasties)

Rib Eye Steak (well done)

Scottish Salmon

Overall, the food is nice, good ambience, awesome live band and we had a very enjoyable night. :)

Canton Paradise @ J Cube

It is the first time I went to Canton Paradise to have dinner together with my hubby's family. As usual, to save the waiting time of queuing, I've made a dinner reservation table for 4 at 6.30pm on a Saturday night.

Canton Paradise offers Hong Kong cuisine, ranging from Dim Sum, noodles, congee, meat and vegetable dishes. The restaurant was quite well decorated and the dining seating very comfortable with cushion seats and spacious space.

We ordered 6 dishes and here's some snapshots of what we ate.

Bacon Roll with Cheese (S$4.60)

Fish Skin with Salt & Pepper (S$6.80)

Prawn with Salad Sauce (S$16.80)

Kai Lan with Soya Sauce (S$10.80)

Sweet & Sour Pork Chop (S$12.80)

And Tofu with Shrimp Paste (S$12.80) which I forgot to snap the picture of it...

To end off the meal, we ordered mango puree with sago (S$4.50), mango pudding (S$4.50) and osmanthus flower and wolf berries with aloe vera (S$4.50).

Total bill came up to S$106.40 for 4 pax inclusive of GST and service charge.

Overall, all dishes were delicious! It's a nice place to have a nice dinner with family.

High Tea @ Madame Patisserie, Boat Quay

Madame Patisserie is a high-tea restaurant serving exquisite pastries and beverages to go with. It is located at Boat Quay - in the heart of Singapore's CBD area - and surrounded by the scenic Singapore riverfront.

Went to this place for high tea on Sunday afternoon together with my hubby with the Groupon deal that I bought somewhere few months back.

They have indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are comfortable and overlooks the Singapore river.

Nice design of menu cards

I ordered their signature high tea set with a pot of tea

My hubby ordered the All Day Breakfast Ham & Cheese

The place was rather quiet, so we took our time to have a relaxing high tea here.

Overall, the ambience and service was great.

Lovely Arteastiq Brunch

Found this place last year when I bought some all-day breakfast coupons from Groupon. This time they offer the same deal at Groupon and check out the place with my hubby!

Arteastiq is an ideal place to sit down, chit chat and chill out for an afternoon tea or some light meal.

The deco and furniture here are really fancy. It has a lovely and feminine atmosphere with loads of plush coaches to chill out on for the afternoon with friends / partners. It is a great place to come with friends / partners to catch up after or before shopping.

Really love the creativity and effort they put in food presentation.

TENDER DEW
Spicy Italian Pork, / Beef with herbs and garlic / Pork and Honey Sausages, Pan-fried-potato-broccoli medalion top with rockets

PRIME DAWN
Pan-fried potato-broccoli medalion, Scrambled eggs & Cheesy roasted tomato with bacon.

Lychee Tea (Cold)

Lemongrass Tea (Hot)

I personally love the ambience as it's a tranquil and peaceful place for one to unwind and relax while indulging in the awesome food.

I shall be back again! hehe...

Happy Good Friday!

Paris Baguette Cafe @ Wisma Atria

My first time visiting Paris Baguette Cafe at Wisma Atria! I was there for light pastries after shopping with my godson on Sunday noon. It was packed and we had difficulties finding seats. This entire place is serve by koreans.

Paris Baguette Cafe, a french-inspired cafe that has its origin from Korea. Located at level 2 of Wisma Atria. It replaced the original Ding Tai Fung area.

They offered wide range of selections of sandwiches, breads, brunch, desserts and drinks for you to choose from.

Unlike most cafes, its self-service ordering system. Customers have to march up to the sandwich/bread/cake counters for their orders, pay at the cashier and self serve to table. Also, the cafe is a free sitting concept, so be prepare to have people looking for seats and looking at you while you are eating, especially when your plate is about empty.

The food was served on a tray with a nice paper.

White Bear Cheese Cake (S$7.50)

Berry Berry Buttons (S$3.80)

Chicken Sandwich (S$8.50)

Apple Pastry (S$4.00)

Mushroom Foccacia (S$3.40)

Overall, everything look so good and yummy! Also, the ambience was also good which makes it a good place to chill out for tea time!

They have opened an outlet at JEM which nearby to my stay-place so it's going to be convenient for me to try other the main and salads which Paris Baguette offers. Looking forward to my next visit!

High Society @ The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

Another dinner date with my hubby. :)

Happens to see an online deal from Groupon, an European Fusion Cuisine at High Society Cafe and Restaurant so we decided to give this restaurant a try. Friday night around 7.30 we were shown to our table in the elegant surroundings of this establishment.

High Society, a cafe / modern restaurant that is part of That CD Shop which is conveniently located at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands.

Classy decor with dim lights,  nice ambience, crystal chandeliers, luxe and cosy furnishings.

Assorted display of cakes

The Menu

We had Onion Soup as starter, follow by the Classic Fish & Chips and Cajun Spring Chicken as main.

Starter:
Soup of the day: Onion Soup

The Mains:
Classic Fish & Chips
Norwegian Haddock in Tempura Batter with French Fries & Tartar Sauce & Hand Made Coleslaw

Cajun Spring Chicken
Pan-Seared Half-Baby Chicken served with Bordeaux Sauce, Asparagus, Carrot Puree, rosemary tomatoes & baby potatoes

The Desserts:
Greentea Cupcake & 3 different flavor of Macaroons (Chocolate, Coconut & Coffee)

Overall, the food is average and the service is alright too. This would be a better place just to have tea and chit-chat, not for serious food.
