Dome Cafe @ Plaza Singapura

My hubby and I were at Plaza Singapura looking for a cosy place for simple dinner before went for our movie date on Friday night. We walked passed this restaurant call Dome Cafe where there is no long queue so we decided to dine there. We didn't get to wait long as it was less crowded and we soon ushered to our seats. It is conveniently located at level 3 Plaza Singapura new wing.

The Menu

We ordered:

Iced Early Grey Lychee (S$5.50)

Hot Chocolate (S$5.80)

Fish & Chip (S$16.50)

The total bill came to about S$59.75

Overall, the food is nice. Service was prompt. Cosy ambience.

Nana's Green Tea @ PS!

Hmm, initially, my hubby & I wanted to try out the new japanese restaurant that served collagen. But shockingly, when we were there, the waiting list was so looooonnngg, the waitress told us we have to WAIT 2 Hours! With not much options available, since its Friday evening, and most places are packed with crowd, we decided to go to Nana's Green Tea instead. It's not our first time dining at this place.

The very first time we tried something at this place was back when it first opened in JCube @ Jurong East. Back then, it was just a small cafe, serving crepes, and desserts. And I absolutely fell in love with the crepes. They were opened for only a really brief period before they shifted to Plaza Singapura. And now, they have transformed their business into a casual dining environment with a change in their food menu as well. At the current moment, they are no longer serving the crepes, but when we last checked with them, they said that the crepes menu is still in their "storeroom" somewhere, and they might bring it back, but not too sure when. My guess is this, if they bring back those crepes, I think no one is going to order the main courses that much anymore! Hahaha! But that's just how I feel.

The new setting was really nice! Especially the design of the tables. You can notice the design on the right side of the photo where the lady is seated in the background.

Today, we decided to order something a little different, including the dessert and the side orders. And I must tell you, the side order tasted better than it looks in the photo!

This Prawn & Broccoli Salad was absolutely MOUTH-WATERING!!! I initially thought of going for something else, but my hubby suggested that we go for the salad instead, less fried food since we have been feasting quite a lot lately. And the mayo was not too over-kill, and it tasted just nice.

My hubby was hungry, like REALLY HUNGRY, so he went ahead to order the Chicken Cutlet Curry Don. It was quite main stream, but still tasted nice. The meat was chunky, thick, and generous.

OMG! Isn't that delicious or what!

Moving on, I ordered the Salmon & Maguro Don, which is salmon, my favourite, Tuna, and the Nori sauce. Quite frankly, I'm not sure what they put into the sauce, but it tasted amazing! I fed my hubby with all the preserved ginger (because ginger contained a chemical that helps to relieve muscle aches, and he sure looked like he needed lots of it!)

And on to the dessert portion!!! Well, its probably considered a drink, but with the matcha ice cream included, its hard to differentiate anymore! So, my hubby decided today that he wanted to go for something more sinful, but not so sinful! Haha!! WTH.

That's the matcha shiratama float, which contains matcha latte, topped with matcha ice cream and mochi! And when we finished our main course, and I started my matcha float, he already finished his drink/dessert! Haha!!!

Personally, if u ask me, I will say that the drinks are truly the main attraction at Nana's Green Tea! Green Tea contains many awesome benefits, and weight loss is one of them. Besides, Matcha green tea is one of my favourite tea!

Hopefully, they will come out with the crepes again soon! I am dying to go for the broccoli and prawn crepe! And...maybe other choices of ingredients in those crepe as well!

That's all from me! I'm signing off here.

Hoshino Coffee @ PS

So, finally back with my latest try-out! After seeing the new wing of Plaza Singapura opened about a few months back, my hubby and I were curious to wanna try out some of the japanese restaurants there! And one of it is the Hoshino Coffee! So, yesterday evening, we decided to check it out!

Personally, the ambience was great! And my hubby was there early, before 6.30, to get a seat. As we were expecting a full house after that. True enough, but around 7pm, the queue was piling up with people eager to eat. Judging by the queue, I reckon that if you want to visit this place in the near future, better to reach before 6.30 on the weekdays.

I suppose one of the reason why the queue was really long, was because there was limited seats, and the places wasn't that big.

So, moving on, we decided to make our orders, and go for what was highly recommended.

So, I ordered the Demi-glace "omu" rice with mozzarella. Personally, I'm fine with eating pizzas, but I not too sure why I find this one hard to finish. The egg wrap was really smooth, but its obvious that they have used milk as one of the ingredients, which is why the wrap is able to look so well-balanced as opposed to our usually home-made scrambled eggs. The sauce is made from chicken and beef, also not really my favourite (I mean the beef).

For a hardcore workout guy like my hubby, it was surprising that he couldn't finish his main course. This Fuwa Fuwa Hoshino Souffle might not seem like much at first sight, but the souffle is covering up the rice, beef, and mushrooms beneath. My hubby's feedback? He felt that before he could get to rice and ingredients, he was already bloated from the souffle on top. Guess it must have been like eating a milk shake from McDonalds. Lotsa bubbles, air, so he was practically eating AIR!! Hahaha!!! Just kidding.

Oh, we finally come to the highlight of our mission! And that was to try out the Vanilla Souffle!

Honestly, the dessert was the only thing that really made our day! It was crispy on the outside, and melt-ilicious on the inside! Although, after finishing the entire bowl of souffle, the both of us felt like we just finished an entire cup of sugar! Haha! But it was sweet, really melts in your mouth! My hubby loved it!

In total, we spend about $80 on the bill for 2 person, so that's about $40/pax. What do I think? I think this is not a place where you should go for a meal, instead, I think its perfect to serve as high tea, or just to chill out with friends! The desserts and drinks are great, but the main course is definitely not their main strength.

Will we still come back to this place? The is a probably chance we might, but definitely not so soon, need to let the souffle wash off first. Lolx!
