Highlander @ Chijmes

Celebrated my hubby's birthday at Highlander (Chijmes).

Chijmes is an interesting concept. They converted a former church into an interesting array of bars and restaurants. Everything shielded from all traffic. The scenery is peaceful.

Highlander is located on basement level. This bar restaurant has both an air-conditioned and outdoor al fresco comfortable seating. Also, there's a live band in the evening start from 9pm to 11pm.

Here's what we ordered:

Pineapple Juice

Cranberry Juice

Highlander Sampler Platter
(Haggis, Scotch Eggs, Tatties Socines, Pork Sausages, Crispy Whitebaits, Kipper Toasties)

Rib Eye Steak (well done)

Scottish Salmon

Overall, the food is nice, good ambience, awesome live band and we had a very enjoyable night. :)

PS Cafe @ Palais Renaissance

Heard so much good review about PS Cafe so I decided to visit it together with my hubby at the Palais Renaissance outlet.

I've made a dinner reservation at 9.30pm on a Friday night. As the place is quite crowded, I would recommend a reservation (as I always will do to any restaurants I am heading). We arrived early and were shown to our table only a few minutes of waiting.

The restaurant is located at a quiet corner on 2nd floor of Palais shopping centre. As you step into the restaurant, you'll definitely surprised with their fantastic ambience, chic and classic interior! The high ceiling. The ceramic tiled flooring. The mouth-watering displayed cakes. The alfresco area. The tropical greenery at the windows. It make me feel like I'm far away from the hustle and bustle city life.

Love the restaurant interior

Every table was placed with tea-light candles creating a romantic atmosphere.

Okay, on to the food...

For the main course, My hubby ordered the Moroccan Lamb. He said the lamb was tender and delicious.

 Moroccan Lamb (S$36)
Ginger and Dukkah Crusted Lamb Skewers with Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Baby Rocket and Harissa Yoghurt.

For me, I ordered Miso Cod. The fish was fresh and light. Love the salad as well!

Miso Cod (S$36)
Broiled Aware Miso Pacific Cod Fillet with Ginger, Lemon & Sesame Dressed Soba Vegetable Salad

With still bit of room, my hubby suggested ordered truffle fries (the famous side dishes) which turned out to be a mountain load of fries! The portions is relatively huge (recommended for sharing), we couldn't finish them all.

Truffle Shoestring Fries (S$15)
With Grated Parmesan and Parsley, Tossed in Truffle Oil

Finally, the dessert!

Chocolate Doorstop Cake (S$15.90)
Come with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream

The total bill came to about S$128.76. Overall, this restaurant has very good ambience. Food was relatively good too! Worth the price even thou it's sightly overpriced. It's a nice place to go for a quiet and intimate dinner, and also a lazy brunch or lunch.

MUSEO @ Quayside Isle, Sentosa Island

Happy Halloween & Happy Deepavali!

I have bought the promotional coupons from Groupon which is super value for money. For S$73, I get a 4-Course Premium Set Lunch for Two Pax (worth S$112.99) at Museo after hearing many good reviews on this restaurant.

Since the coupons going to expire soon (valid till 6 Nov 2013), I've took one day leave on Friday (1st Nov'13) and bring my hubby together.

This is the first time I visited MUSEO, pronounced "Moo-Zay-O", which means museum in Italian. It is located at Quayside Isle on Sentosa Island, next to W Hotel. Thou getting to the location was not convenient, not a very public transport friendly place but it's definitely worth going there for meals. :-)

Lovely place with an unique environment. We were impressed with the ambience.

We really enjoyed the presentation of everything brought to the table! Everything is so artistically presented.

I've actually make the reservation one month ago.We arrived on dot for our 1:30 reservation. We get the sofa seats next to the windows with a splendid view of the marina littered with lavishness yachts. The entire environment really make you feel like you on holiday.

Brunch @ Arteastiq Boutique Tea House, Mandarin Gallery

Brunch Date with my friend on Saturday! Teehee.

Bought a deal from Groupon somewhere back in June, breakfast or brunch with tea set S$45 for two pax (worth S$75).

The place was located at Mandarin Gallery, Level 4 and it's really quite easy to find. I've made a reservation become came down to make sure we get a better seat. As the seats are quite limited, I recommended making reservation at least 1 or 2 days prior.

Didn't really had the chance took the picture inside view of the restaurant as it's was very crowded that day so *steal* the picture from their website. Hehehe...

The place itself also have open-concept kitchen where you can observe the staff preparing the drinks.

For myself
Aurora
(Egg Benedict served with Arteastiq's unique lemon butter sauce and portobello mushroom, topped with rockets)

For him
Prime Dawn
(Pan-fried potato-brocolli medalion, scrambled eggs & cheesy roasted tomato. Choice of sausages or bacon)

The teas served here was unique and very refreshing. We was so thrilled to be served the tea set! :)

Hot Pear Tea

Hot Peach Tea

Dessert  time!
Chocolate Green Tea Lava Cake served with Yuzu (Pamelo) Premium Gelato

My friend ordered this dessert which is not included in the deal. Can't really finish the chocolate lava cake as it was too sinful!!

We both love the ambiance here, so cosy for a good high-tea rest! Service and food quality is good too!

I highly recommended this place!
